Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is still the leader in the market. But its usage percentage falling down continuously from 96.6 % (2002) to 70.53% (2008). The new rising star is Mozilla Firefox from 0.4% (2002) to 20.53% (2008). Now Firefox is the dominator in the Browsers War. Apple Safari with 6.84% and Opera with 0.73% showing their share. Netscape’s navigator with just 0.49% share. Recently released Google Chrome is slowly gaining with 0.78% usage share.

Out of these numbers, Most of the tech savvy guys are fans of Firefox. Yes, Firefox is steadily dominating IE. Even though Microsoft is releasing new versions of Internet Explorer with new features its usage share is going down. This is because Firefox is FREE and Open Source. IE is also free but only for genuine windows users. Hey you know one thing am also fan of Firefox.

Lenovo has announced that it is going to introduce a Constant Secure Remote Disable service.

This service allows users to remotely disable a laptop by sending a text message. Users also receive a confirmation text message that validates the disabling of a laptop.

The user can send a text message called kill command from a specified cell phone number to shut down a laptop. To reactivate the disabled PC, a user needs to enter the pre-set passcode after the notebook is restarted.

The software used for this service will be available free from Lenovo’s Web site from the first half of 2009.

A lost or stolen laptop must have a working cellular data card and a paid data plan with a carrier for the remote disable service to work. Information via Yahoo tech news.
